Role Overview: We are looking for a Purchase Manager (full time, onsite in Bengaluru) to join our dynamic team at Selmount Power Systems Pvt. Ltd. Will be r esponsible for end-to-end procurement of materials required for control panel manufacturing. Ensure timely sourcing, vendor development, negotiation, and supply coordination. Maintain strong liaison with Design, Production, Stores and Quality departments. Focus on cost optimization, vendor reliability and timely material availability. Key Responsibilities: 1) Procurement Planning & Execution Develop and implement effective purchase strategies. Plan material requirements based on project and production schedules. Maintain optimum inventory levels and track budget utilization. Forecast demand and align procurement accordingly. 2) Vendor Management Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for electrical, fabrication, and automation items. Conduct regular vendor performance evaluations (price, quality, and delivery). Build long-term vendor relationships to ensure consistent supply and quality. 3) Sourcing & Negotiation Invite quotations, prepare comparison statements, and finalize suppliers. Negotiate prices, credit terms, and delivery timelines for best value. Issue purchase orders as per approved specifications and commercial terms. 4) Coordination & Follow-up Coordinate with internal departments for material planning and prioritization. Monitor open purchase orders and follow up for timely delivery. Resolve delivery issues, shortages, or rejections in coordination with vendors and QC. 5) Cost Control & Reporting Analyze market trends for potential cost-saving opportunities. Maintain purchase MIS reports, budget comparisons, and rate contract data. Support management with procurement-related analysis and periodic reports. 6) Documentation & Compliance Ensure accurate documentation of all procurement activities as per ISO / QMS standards. Maintain purchase records, GRNs, invoices, and quality certifications. Comply with GST and internal audit requirements. Required skills: Technical knowledge : Strong technical knowledge of control panel components, switchgear, and automation products, Proficiency in ERP and procurement software. Negotiation skills : Exceptional ability to negotiate favorable terms and build profitable vendor relationships. Analytical skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess market trends, evaluate suppliers, and manage costs. Leadership: Proven leadership skills to manage and motivate a purchasing team effectively. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers. Detail-oriented: High attention to detail for managing contracts, records, and ensuring compliance. Qualification: B.E / Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Mandatory.
