Security Engineer II - Java FSD

As a Security Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Tech Control team, you will be part of an agile team dedicated to delivering software solutions that meet pre-defined functional and user requirements while also preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. In this role as an emerging member of the security engineering team, you will work on executing basic software solutions by designing, developing, and troubleshooting multiple components within a technical area, thereby gaining skills and experience to advance in your role. Your responsibilities will include executing standard security solutions based on existing playbooks to meet security requirements for internal clients such as product, platform, and application owners. You will write secure and high-quality code using the Java programming language with limited guidance and utilize specialized tools like vulnerability scanners to analyze and correlate incident data for identifying, interpreting, and summarizing threats and vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will support the delivery of continuity-related awareness, training, educational activities, and exercises, contributing to a team culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect. To thrive in this role, you are required to have formal training or certification in software engineering concepts along with at least 2 years of applied experience. You should possess hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability. Proficiency in coding with Java using Spring Boot in a large corporate environment is essential, as well as experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle, including developing, debugging, and maintaining code using modern programming and database querying languages. Exposure to agile methodologies like CI/CD, application resiliency, and security is preferred, along with emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within disciplines such as cloud, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
