Job Description, The design engineer is responsible for designing and developing hydraulic cylinders to meet customer specifications and project requirements. This role involves utilizing engineering principles, CAD software, and an understanding of hydraulic systems to create efficient, durable, and cost-effective designs. The engineer will also collaborate with manufacturing and testing teams to ensure the designs meet performance, quality, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop innovative hydraulic cylinder designs, including single-acting, double-acting, telescopic, and custom cylinders, based on customer requirements and application needs. Create detailed 2D and 3D models using CAD software with AutoCAD & SolidWorks for hydraulic cylinder components, including cylinder tubes, piston rods, seals, and mounting configurations. Perform calculations to determine cylinder sizing, load capacities, stroke lengths, pressure ratings, material stresses, and fluid dynamics to ensure optimal performance. Choose appropriate materials for cylinder components, considering factors such as strength, weight, corrosion resistance, and cost. Knowledge of materials like steel, stainless steel, and specialized alloys is essential. Coordinate the development of prototypes, perform functional testing, and analyze test results to verify that the hydraulic cylinders meet performance and quality specifications. Make design modifications as needed. Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards (e.g., ISO, NFPA) and safety regulations for hydraulic systems. Work closely with the manufacturing team to optimize designs for manufacturability, including considerations for machining, welding, and assembly processes. Prepare technical documents, including design specifications, assembly instructions, test procedures, and user manuals for hydraulic cylinders. Identify and implement improvements to existing designs to enhance performance, reduce costs, and improve manufacturability. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, with a related field. Experience: For BE, 3-5 years, and for Diploma, 4 to 6 years of experience in hydraulic cylinder design or related hydraulic systems engineering. Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar). Familiarity with engineering analysis tools (e.g., FEA). Understanding of hydraulic systems and components (e.g., pumps, valves, seals). Strong knowledge of material properties and selection for hydraulic applications. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. Preferred Skills: Experience with design and analysis of hydraulic components such as valves, pumps, and accumulators. Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques with industry-specific standards (e.g., SAE, ASME). Experience with hydraulic simulation software. Should have working knowledge on GD&T Other Benefits - Free Transport - Free Food - Mediclaim for individual - Group Accident Policy coverage - On roll appointment - Uniform & shoes will be provided - Kaizen rewards.
