Scientist- Strain Engineering

You will be hired as a Scientist specializing in Strain Engineering for a client in the biotechnology sector. Your primary responsibilities will include working with various laboratory strains such as yeast, Escherichia coli, and fungi using aseptic techniques, conducting advanced molecular biology techniques like recombinant cloning and genome editing, and engineering microbial genomes to enhance phenotypes and facilitate the production of recombinant molecules. Additionally, you will be expected to perform fermentation studies for recombinant strains, design novel gene constructs, analyze metabolic fluxes, and execute experiments following established SOPs. You will be required to deliver accurate results in a timely manner while maintaining effective communication with internal stakeholders, driving continuous improvement of lab processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. To qualify for this role, you must hold a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, or a related field along with a minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral experience in academia, pharma, or the biotech industry. You should have demonstrated expertise in engineering metabolic pathways in yeast and bacterial systems, proficiency in metabolic pathway prediction tools, and a solid understanding of core molecular biology techniques. Experience in gene circuit design, cell engineering, and microbial strain development would be desirable for this position.,
