Scientific Technical Writer

You are a Technical Writer joining a team at Schrdinger, focused on enhancing human health and quality of life through advanced computational methods. Schrdinger is a leader in computer-aided drug discovery and materials science, constantly innovating software suites such as Maestro, FEP+, WaterMap, Glide, and LiveDesign. As part of the Documentation team within the Education department, you will engage with scientists globally, helping them leverage computational drug discovery in various research fields. Your role involves applying design thinking to enhance accessibility and user experience of Schrdinger software documentation, collaborating with different teams to ensure researchers can easily find the information they need. Ideal candidates for this role are technical writers with a scientific background or computational chemists possessing strong communication, writing, and editing skills. You should be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of meeting deadlines consistently. Moreover, creativity, collaborative spirit, and the ability to work across diverse teams are essential traits for success in this position. Your responsibilities include collaborating with various departments to create documentation in computational chemistry, crafting and designing content for diverse audiences, managing intricate documentation projects involving multiple stakeholders, and contributing to educational content development in a team-centric environment. You will also develop expertise in Schrdinger's suite of software tools for small-molecule, biologics, and materials science applications. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant scientific field or possess equivalent industry experience. A scientific background coupled with technical writing experience or a technical writing background with knowledge in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, physics, or related disciplines is preferred. An interest in small-molecule drug discovery, familiarity with molecular modeling software tools, and a proven track record of strong writing skills are also necessary, with writing samples expected during the application process. Additionally, candidates with an MS in Technical Writing or a relevant scientific discipline, prior experience with Schrdinger applications or molecular modeling software, proficiency in tools like Flare, Confluence, Jira, and skills in Python, HTML, or CSS would be preferred for this role.,
