Science Teacher (Physics / Chemistry – Higher Grades)

Head of Department / Vice Principal / Principal

Job Summary:

The Higher Grade Science Teacher (Physics/Chemistry) is responsible for teaching advanced scientific concepts to secondary or senior-level students. The teacher delivers theoretical and practical instruction, conducts laboratory work, assesses student performance, and fosters analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Instruction

• Teach Physics and/or Chemistry to higher-grade students as per the approved curriculum
• Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging lessons
• Explain complex scientific principles clearly and accurately
• Integrate real-world applications and technology into teaching

Laboratory & Practical Work

• Conduct and supervise Physics and Chemistry laboratory experiments
• Ensure laboratory safety rules are followed
• Maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, and records

Assessment & Evaluation

• Prepare and administer tests, quizzes, assignments, and examinations
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback
• Prepare students for board or final examinations

Classroom Management

• Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment
• Encourage critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and participation
• Support students with diverse learning needs

Professional Responsibilities

• Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and professional development
• Collaborate with other science teachers and departments
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress
• Follow school policies and educational standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Science Education
• Teaching certification/license as required
• Experience teaching higher-grade or secondary-level students
• Strong subject knowledge and laboratory skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,194.91 - ₹40,432.29 per month
