Edify School, Kanakapura is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Science Lab Assistant to support the smooth functioning of our school laboratories. The ideal candidate will play an essential role in preparing materials, maintaining equipment, ensuring a safe learning environment, and assisting teachers during practical sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory materials, reagents, and equipment for science classes and experiments.
• Assist teachers and students during practical sessions and demonstrations.
• Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and tools.
• Clean, organize, and sterilize lab equipment, glassware, and work areas.
• Label and store samples, chemicals, and laboratory supplies properly.
• Maintain logs, basic records, and inventory of materials and equipment.
• Follow general safety and hygiene practices in the laboratory.
• Assist in managing stock, ordering supplies, and performing basic administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Foundational knowledge of science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, or related fields).
• Basic understanding of laboratory practices and safety guidelines.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate documentation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, etc.).
• 1–5 years of experience in a laboratory or school science lab environment.
• Familiarity with lab equipment such as microscopes, pipettes, centrifuges, or balances.
• Understanding of general laboratory workflows and procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods during lab sessions.
• Willingness to work with lab materials and equipment using appropriate safety gear.
