Job Summary:

The Biology Teacher for higher grades is responsible for teaching advanced biological concepts to secondary or senior students. The teacher plans and delivers engaging lessons, conducts laboratory experiments, assesses student performance, and promotes scientific thinking and inquiry.

Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Instruction

• Teach Biology to higher-grade students according to the prescribed curriculum
• Plan and deliver effective, student-centered lessons
• Explain complex biological concepts clearly and accurately
• Integrate practical experiments, models, and technology into lessons

Laboratory & Practical Work

• Conduct and supervise biology laboratory experiments
• Ensure proper use and safety of laboratory equipment
• Maintain laboratory records and materials

Assessment & Evaluation

• Prepare tests, quizzes, assignments, and exams
• Assess and evaluate student performance fairly
• Provide feedback to support academic improvement
• Prepare students for board or final examinations

Classroom Management

• Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment
• Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and participation
• Support diverse learning needs of students

Professional Responsibilities

• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
• Collaborate with other science teachers and departments
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress
• Follow school policies and educational standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology or Science Education
• Teaching certification (as required by education authorities)
• Experience teaching higher-grade or secondary-level Biology
• Strong subject knowledge and laboratory skills
