About the Role We are looking for a highly creative and technically proficient Industrial Design Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering principles and design . This role involves collaborating on the development of next-generation medical devices and surgical robotic systems , focusing on both aesthetics and mechanical functionality. The ideal candidate should be able to translate product requirements into intuitive, ergonomic, and manufacturable designs. Key Responsibilities Create industrial design concepts that balance aesthetics, usability, and mechanical feasibility. Develop 3D models, renderings, and detailed engineering drawings using tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360, Keyshot or Rhino . Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, biomedical experts, and regulatory professionals. Optimize designs for manufacturability, ergonomics, and medical usability standards. Participate in rapid prototyping, testing, and iteration cycles. Ensure design compliance with industry standards, especially in medical devices (ISO 13485, IEC 60601, etc.). Conduct product teardown, benchmarking, and material selection. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering , or related field. 0-2 years of experience in product or industrial design, preferably with exposure to Mechatronic products Proficiency in CAD and Rendering softwares (SolidWorks, Creo, Adobe tools, Unreal Engine, Keyshot or equivalent). Strong understanding of mechanical and mechatronic systems, tolerances, DFM/DFA principles, and material properties. Portfolio showcasing past industrial design work, especially complex electromechanical systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing for healthcare, surgical, or wearable technologies. Knowledge of user-centered design principles and human factors in medical devices. Familiarity with additive manufacturing, CNC machining, and other rapid prototyping methods. Understanding of IP-sensitive development and NDA procedures.
