Job Description: Assistant Manager Legal Position: Assistant Manager Location: Nashik, Maharashtra Reports To: AVP, Legal Role Overview As an Assistant Manager – Legal, you will be responsible for providing legal and compliance support across company's businesses and manufacturing units. The role involves handling litigation, contract management, statutory compliance, land-related matters, and liaising with external stakeholders and authorities and obtaining/renewing various licenses and permissions as would be applicable to the business. You will play a key role in safeguarding the company’s interests while supporting business operations and growth. Key Responsibilities : Obtain and renew statutory licenses, approvals, and permissions for factories and new projects. Liaise with authorities for subsidies/incentives from Central and State Governments. Draft, review, and finalize contracts, agreements, notices, and replies. Manage litigation matters including civil, criminal, arbitration, and recovery cases. Liaise with external counsels, courts, and government departments for case resolution and providing day to day support to the business. Support statutory and regulatory compliance across factories, including factory audits and inspections. Maintain accurate records and repositories of contracts, licenses, and legal documents with timely renewal alerts. Support land-related matters including acquisition, leasing, monetisation, and updating land records. Provide assistance in brand protection. Coordinate with business and finance teams to track recoveries and manage legal claims. Travel to factories, project sites, and markets as required for legal and compliance-related work. Handle local legal issues impacting factories, projects, or operations. Any other legal matters as assigned by management. Qualifications : LLB / LLM (LLM preferred) Experience : 4–9 years of experience in a legal role, mandatorily in the manufacturing or industrial sector. Preferred Skills: Strong knowledge of corporate law, litigation, land laws, and compliance. Good understanding of contract drafting and negotiation and inter personal skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional coordination. Proficiency in legal MIS/documentation tools (e.g., Lexcare) is an advantage. Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
