About the job: Key responsibilities: 1. Set up and operate CNC turning machines to perform tasks such as turning, drilling, threading, and boring of metallic and non-metallic workpieces. 2. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements. 3. Program CNC turning machines using CAM software to generate part programs for various components. 4. Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job. 5. Conduct tool changes, offsets, and tool adjustments to ensure parts are produced within specified tolerances. 6. Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance. 7. Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints. Strong knowledge of G-code programming and CAM software Familiarity with a variety of tooling, fixtures, and materials used in CNC turning operations. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of precision and accuracy. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Prior experience with multi-axis turning machines is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus. Preferred Skills: Experience with multi-axis machining and advanced CNC programming techniques. Knowledge of machining various materials, including metals, plastics, and composites. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
