Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing general accounting functions, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and managing the company’s financial records. The Senior Accountant will work closely with other accounting professionals and management to provide accurate and timely financial information. Key Responsibilities: General Ledger Management: Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely. Month-End/Year-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and ensuring all transactions are properly recorded. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements. Account Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts payable/receivable, and other key balance sheet accounts. Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and assist in internal and external audits. Tax Filings: Assist with tax preparation, including VAT, sales tax, income tax, and other relevant filings. Internal Controls: Help develop and enforce internal accounting controls to safeguard the company’s financial assets. Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and assist with forecasting financial trends. Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, ensuring their professional growth and development. Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements for efficiency in accounting practices. Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred). 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably with a focus on general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close. Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, etc.) and Microsoft Excel. In-depth understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS). Experience with tax compliance and preparation. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills: Experience in [Industry-specific knowledge if applicable, e.g., manufacturing, retail, non-profit]. Knowledge of financial forecasting and budgeting. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros). Experience with ERP systems and cloud-based accounting solutions.
