This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Universes, Web Intelligence (WebI) reports, and Business Objects solutions, as well as creating paginated reports and dashboards in Microsoft Power BI. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, solid BI technology knowledge, and experience working with global teams to deliver reliable reporting solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Universes, queries, and BusinessObjects reports using SAP Web Intelligence and BO 4.3.
- Build paginated reports and dashboards using Power BI Desktop and Report Builder.
- Architect, model, and optimize Universes and reports with Information Design Tool.
- Manage BI projects across the full lifecycle: requirements, development, deployment, and support.
- Document BO reports and Universes for maintenance and knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
- Participate in design and analysis sessions to support team decisions.
- Support system and user acceptance testing (UAT), including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Ensure BI deliverables meet performance, security, and compliance standards.
- Share best practices and mentor team members on BI tools and techniques.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in SAP Business Objects development, including Web Intelligence and Universe design.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including paginated reports and Report Builder.
- Strong knowledge of Universe design concepts: contexts, aliases, aggregate awareness, navigation paths, and performance tuning.
- Expertise in SQL development and optimization; familiarity with tools such as TOAD, SQL Navigator, or SQL Developer.
- Good understanding of relational, dimensional, and OLAP modeling techniques.
- Experience with BI security management in the Central Management Console (CMC).
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex SQL queries and BI reports.
- Familiarity with BI industry trends across SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, and IBM.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with global teams across time zones.
