SAP BI/BO Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer at Maersk, you will play a crucial role in leading the design and implementation of SAP BI universe solutions. Your responsibilities will include coordinating on architectural decisions, developing best practices for universe development, optimizing universe performance, mentoring junior developers, and troubleshooting complex issues. You will collaborate with data architects to ensure alignment with enterprise data strategy and contribute to various aspects of solution delivery. Additionally, you will identify and implement internal process improvements to enhance efficiency. To excel in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with 5-8 years of experience in SAP BI universe development. Advanced knowledge of SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise platform, proficiency in SQL and database optimization, and familiarity with data warehousing concepts are essential. Strong communication skills, understanding of software life cycle, and exceptional data analysis abilities are also required. Preferred skills for this position include additional certifications in SAP BI/BusinessObjects, experience with SAP HANA optimization, knowledge of modern data architecture patterns, and familiarity with cloud data platforms. Understanding of data governance, agile development methodologies, and experience in enabling connectivity at different levels are also desirable. Technical competencies that will be valuable in this role include expertise in SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise platform, Universe Design Tool (UDT), Information Design Tool (IDT), SQL, data modeling, performance optimization, security implementation, version control systems, and database/data warehousing concepts.
