SAP basis the primary job of an SAP basis administrator is to take feedback from users about the SAP environment and optimize performance

Software troubleshooting SAP basis administrators are required to handle the troubleshooting of systems on which SAP is configured in case any problem arises

Database administration – SAP basis administrators design, install, configure, and administer SAP databases often

Technical documentation– documenting SAP processes, procedures, and plans, including changes, upgrades, and new services, is a key duty of SAP basis administrators

Communication skills – database administrators serve as a go-to resource for multiple groups and teams, such as IT business analysts, customers, and developers, so good interpersonal skills are a must

Organization skills – SAP basis administrators must schedule the maintenance activity of multiple systems, juggle overlapping tasks, and inform relevant parties of any changes that are made

Key Responsibilities of this role & Tasks

1. Administer the SAP database (perform database upgrades, apply database maintenance, administer database performance, manage database storage, database problem determination and resolution.

2. Installation of SAP systems.

3. Provide technical and End User support and monitor system performance.

4. Perform SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client).

5. SAP Basis Administration for SAP S/4HANA, SAP CRM, SAP EWM, SAP MII, SAP NetWeaver, etc.

6. Apply and migrate SAP maintenance (hot packages and kernel upgrades) through all systems using a structured methodology.

7. Overall System Monitoring (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, etc.).

8. Analysis of ABAP dumps and system logs errors messages and provide solution.

9. Implementing SAP OSS Notes as requested from customer and after coordinating with specialist.

10. Maintain documentation and procedures on all provided Services, in a supportive role.

11. Support build/project team with project tasks.

12. Alert handling

4. Linux and Windows administration knowledge.

5. Good knowledge in one or more of the following databases (MaxDB, Oracle, HANA, Sybase ASE) and management tools.
