Sanitation Equipment Operator - Automated

As a Waste Collection Vehicle Operator at the City of Orlando, your primary responsibility will be to operate large side-loading automated vehicles (65,000 GVW) for collecting residential and commercial refuse from designated areas. You will be working under the supervision of a Sanitation Supervisor, with your performance being reviewed through direct observation of routes, trip tickets, and discussions of any encountered problems. Key Responsibilities: - Operate large side-loading automated vehicles for waste collection - Follow designated routes for efficient collection of residential and commercial refuse - Perform skilled work with attention to detail and safety - Communicate effectively with the Sanitation Supervisor and report any issues promptly Qualifications Required: - Completion of the Solid Waste Driver program OR two (2) years of experience operating heavy equipment vehicles of 18,000 GVW or more with familiarity in hydraulics operations - Valid Florida Class B CDL required - Ability to read, write, and follow instructions accurately - High level of physical fitness and stamina for the demands of the job If you meet the minimum qualifications and are interested in this position, please ensure that your application clearly outlines your relevant experience.
