Location: Noida Department: Merchandising Reports to: Manager Job Summary The Merchandiser will act as the key link between buyers and the factory, ensuring smooth execution of sweater orders from development to shipment. This role requires strong communication, product knowledge, and coordination skills to deliver high-quality sweaters within the required timelines and cost parameters. Key Responsibilities 1. Buyer Communication & Order Management Serve as the main point of contact between buyers and the factory. Understand buyer requirements, technical packs, and product expectations. Negotiate prices, lead times, and order terms with buyers. Provide buyers with timely updates on order status, production progress, and shipment plans. 2. Product Development & Sampling Coordinate with the design and sampling team to develop sweater samples (proto, fit, size set, pre-production). Ensure samples are developed as per buyer specifications and delivered within deadlines. Provide technical inputs on yarns, knit structures, trims, and finishes. 3. Production Coordination Work closely with the production, planning, and quality teams to ensure smooth execution of bulk orders. Monitor yarn sourcing, dyeing, and knitting timelines to avoid delays. Follow up on production milestones to ensure on-time delivery. 4. Costing & Sourcing Prepare accurate cost sheets based on yarn consumption, trims, and production costs. Source and develop new yarns, trims, and accessories as per buyer requirements. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and mills to ensure competitive pricing and quality. 5. Quality & Compliance Ensure buyer quality standards are met at every stage. Coordinate inline and final inspections with buyers or third-party agencies. Ensure all compliance requirements (social, environmental, and technical audits) are met. 6. Documentation & Shipment Prepare and maintain purchase orders, production trackers, and shipment documents. Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure smooth and timely shipment of orders. Maintain accurate records of order history, costing, and correspondence. Key Skills & Requirements Graduate in Fashion, Textiles, Apparel Merchandising, or related field. 3–5 years of experience as a Merchandiser in a sweater/flat-knit factory. Strong knowledge of yarns, knitting techniques, and garment construction. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English. Strong organizational, multitasking, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ERP knowledge preferred. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Key Attributes Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.
