Your Role As a Principal Engineer, you will be a key technical leader responsible for driving architecture decisions, optimizing system performance, and setting best practices. You will work on highly scalable distributed systems, solving complex challenges in real-time data processing, high-traffic APIs, and infrastructure scaling. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to mentor teams while driving innovation. Key Responsibilities Define and drive the backend architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. Design, develop, and optimize high-availability microservices and APIs Solve complex system design challenges related to real-time data processing, distributed computing, and high-throughput applications Guide and mentor engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation Conduct architecture reviews, establish coding best practices, and ensure system reliability Optimize database performance and manage data pipelines for real-time analytics Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to drive technology decisions aligned with business goals Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance platform capabilities What We’re Looking For: 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, including designing and scaling distributed systems Expertise in Node.js, Python, or Golang (experience with multiple is a plus) Strong understanding of system architecture, microservices, event-driven design, and API scalability Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis) Experience with message queues and event streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.) Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code Expertise in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience in performance optimization, database tuning, and security best practices A track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring teams Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
