Job Description Store Incharge (Construction Site) Position: Store Incharge Department: Stores & Inventory Location: Karur, Tamil Nadu. Reporting To: Project Manager / Procurement Head Role Overview The Store Incharge will be responsible for managing all store operations at the construction site, including receiving, inspecting, issuing, and maintaining accurate records of construction materials. The role requires strong knowledge of construction materials, proficiency in MS Excel, and hands-on experience with both digital and manual inventory systems. Key Responsibilities 1. Material Receipt & Inspection Receive materials as per delivery challans, purchase orders, and invoices. Inspect materials for correct quantity, quality, and specification upon arrival. Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the site and procurement teams. Ensure proper documentation of all received materials. 2. Inventory Management Maintain accurate stock records using MS Excel and physical stock registers . Update material receipts and issuance entries on a real-time basis. Organize materials systematically to ensure safety, easy access, and minimal damage. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment. 3. Material Issuance Issue materials to site engineers, supervisors, and project teams as per approved requisitions. Record every issuance in Excel and physical registers to ensure accurate stock tracking. Maintain records of returnable items, tools, and equipment. 4. Stock Verification Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock checks. Reconcile physical stock with system records and report any variances. Implement proper stock control measures to minimize wastage, loss, and misuse. 5. Coordination & Communication Coordinate with procurement , vendors , and site teams for material requirement planning. Follow up on pending deliveries and resolve material-related issues. Support site operations by ensuring timely availability of materials. 6. Reporting & Documentation Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for management review. Maintain records including stock registers, GRNs, issue slips, and returnable registers. Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation. Keep the store area clean, safe, and well-organized. Required Skills & Competencies Strong MS Excel proficiency (data entry, basic formulas, stock formats, reporting). Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills. Good knowledge of construction materials , tools, and equipment. Ability to maintain manual registers and digital inventory records . Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and coordination skills. Qualifications & Experience Minimum Graduate / Diploma in any discipline (Material Management or Civil preferred). Minimum 1 years of experience in store management at a construction site. Hands-on experience in stock registers, Excel-based record-keeping, and material handling. Knowledge of basic procurement processes and documentation (PO, challan, GRN).
