Job Summary We are hiring Development Engineers to join our precision manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for process development, CNC programming, tooling and fixture design, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring quality, cost optimization, and manufacturing efficiency for new and existing products. Key Responsibilities 1. Process Development Develop and optimize machining processes for new and existing components. Select cutting tools, fixtures, and set machining parameters (feeds, speeds, depth of cut). Create process flow charts, operation sheets, and setup documents for CNC, VMC, HMC, and conventional machines. Validate processes through trial runs and prototype builds. 2. CNC Programming Generate and modify CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, Fusion 360). Simulate and verify tool paths; optimize cycle time and tool usage. Ensure programs meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards. 3. Tooling & Fixture Design Design or source appropriate jigs, fixtures, and tooling for complex machining operations. Coordinate with suppliers for special tool development. Focus on easy changeover, reduced tool wear, and improved productivity. 4. Quality & Tolerances Ensure machining processes meet tight tolerance requirements (up to microns). Support Quality team with PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans. Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process issues. 5. Cost & Cycle Time Optimization Analyze and reduce machining cycle times, tool costs, and scrap rates. Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (Kaizen) principles. Drive efficiency improvements in existing processes. 6. New Product Development (NPD) Work closely with Design and R&D during prototyping stages. Translate complex drawings into manufacturable processes. Conduct capability studies and coordinate pre-production trials. 7. Machine & Process Capability Conduct CP/CPK, GR&R, and MSA studies for process validation. Support stabilization of machining processes for mass production. Evaluate and monitor machine capability and repeatability. 8. Documentation & Compliance Prepare and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and SOPs. Ensure compliance with ISO, IATF 16949, or AS9100 standards (as applicable). 9. Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate with: Design & R&D for manufacturability feedback Quality for inspection planning Maintenance for machine readiness Supply Chain for material and tool planning Desired Skills & Competencies Proficiency in CAM software (Mastercam, NX, Fusion 360, etc.) Sound knowledge of GD&T and machining principles Experience with CNC, VMC, HMC, and turning centers Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools Good communication and documentation skills Why Join Us? Exposure to cutting-edge manufacturing technologies Work on challenging precision components Opportunities for professional growth and cross-functional collaboration Performance-driven culture with a focus on innovation and quality.
