Job Description

As a skilled ROS Engineer, you will be responsible for the on-site implementation, integration, and support of Autonomous Forklifts (AMRs). Your background in robotics deployment, system integration, and field troubleshooting will be essential, along with specific expertise in Robot Operating System (ROS). This role will require extensive travel to various customer sites in the USA and Europe, making candidates holding a valid USA visa preferred. Your key responsibilities will include leading the on-site installation and deployment of autonomous forklifts, ensuring proper setup, configuration, integration with existing warehouse management systems (WMS), and facility infrastructure. You will calibrate and tune the forklifts" navigation and control systems using ROS to adapt to specific operational environments, conduct comprehensive testing for optimal performance, reliability, and safety of the deployed AMRs. Additionally, you will provide hands-on training to customers on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of autonomous forklifts, act as the primary point of contact for customer support, gather feedback for improvements, diagnose and resolve technical issues, perform system updates, collaborate with the engineering team, maintain detailed documentation, provide regular updates to the Deployment Manager, and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate should have experience in deploying and supporting autonomous systems, robotics, or automated industrial equipment, hands-on experience with autonomous forklifts, AMRs, AGVs, or similar robotic systems, proficiency in ROS for robot control, navigation, and diagnostics, a strong understanding of robotics, navigation systems, and sensor integration, experience with creating and managing ROS nodes, topics, and services, proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues in robotic systems, familiarity with warehouse management systems and industrial network protocols, basic programming skills for configuring and debugging autonomous systems, knowledge of safety standards related to autonomous industrial vehicles, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving skills, and willingness to travel extensively within the USA and Europe for on-site deployments and customer support.
