As an OSP (Outside Plant) Design Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in designing fiber optic networks using your expertise in IQGeo GIS software. Your focus will be on creating efficient and cost-effective OSP designs that adhere to industry standards and ensure accuracy in planning, construction, and maintenance activities. Responsibilities: - Design and plan fiber optic network routes, considering feasibility, cost, and constructability. - Utilize IQGeo software to create, manage, and update detailed network maps, fiber assignments, and splicing schematics. - Prepare detailed engineering drawings (e.g., FCDs), bills of materials (BOMs), and other relevant documentation. - Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards. - Identify and resolve design-related issues, providing technical support during construction. - Maintain accurate records and documentation of all design work. - Potentially assist with permitting processes and right-of-way acquisition. - Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the OSP design team.
