Job Title: Tooling Manager – Sheet Metal (Press Shop) Tooling, Progressive Tool Location: Bhiwadi, Rajasthan Industry: Manufacturing – Sheet Metal (Mild Steel & Stainless Steel) Key Responsibilities: Lead the Tooling Department for sheet metal press shop operations, including tool design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Supervise tool room operations, including press tools (progressive, compound, and single-stage tools) for MS and SS components. Manage tooling activities across press shop, plating, and assembly sections. Plan and execute preventive maintenance of tools and dies to minimize downtime and improve tool life. Conduct in-process and final inspections of sheet metal parts to ensure compliance with dimensional and quality standards. Review and analyze tool performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions. Support new tool trials, modifications, and commissioning of new press tools for production. Collaborate with the design team and vendors for the development and procurement of new tools. Ensure documentation of tooling history, repair logs, and maintenance schedules. Lead and mentor a team of toolmakers and technicians. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards. Drive continuous improvement in tooling processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Key Requirements: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Tool & Die Making. 8+ years of relevant experience in press tool management, particularly in progressive tooling for sheet metal industries. Strong knowledge of sheet metal forming processes, tool materials, and tool design concepts. Proficient in using measuring instruments like Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and modifying tools for process optimization. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tool designs. Experience with MS and SS sheet metal components in manufacturing environments. Leadership qualities with good communication and team management skills.
