Community Engagement & IEC Team Member – Waste Management Initiative

We are looking for committed and dynamic individuals to join a field-level Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) team for an ambitious waste management initiative in Kerala. The project involves transformation of local waste management practices, behavioural change at the community level, and coordination with stakeholders including households, local governance structures, and primary waste collection teams. This is a people-centric role ideal for professionals passionate about environmental sustainability, community engagement, and public health. The assignment will be for a minimum of 12 months, extendable up to 18 months depending on project requirements. Preference will be given to candidates who reside in Palakkad district or have prior work experience in Palakkad. Key Responsibilities: Execute IEC campaigns to raise awareness and promote sustainable waste practices across multiple local bodies. Engage with communities, residential associations, institutions, and informal sectors to drive behaviour change. Assist in implementing protocols and communication strategies for improved source segregation and waste supply chain. Facilitate training and orientation sessions for field workers, volunteers, and local officials. Coordinate with local self-governments, collection systems, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth rollout of practices. Support grievance redressal mechanisms, feedback collection, and real-time field reporting. Document learnings, case studies, and community stories for internal reporting and future learning. Candidate Profile: Degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) , Environmental Sciences , Sociology , Development Studies , or any relevant discipline. 1–5 years of field experience in community outreach, sustainability, sanitation, solid waste management, or similar domains. Strong communication and facilitation skills in Malayalam and English . Experience working with local bodies, NGOs, SHGs, or public welfare projects is desirable. Ability to work independently as well as in coordination with a larger team across multiple jurisdictions. Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region. Ayurveda Physician (with MBBS Background) Location: Kochi, Kerala Employment Type: Full-Time Hospital: Upcoming Ayurveda Wellness Hospital Start Date: 01 August 2025 Position Overview: We are seeking a highly qualified and integrative-minded Ayurveda Doctor to join our upcoming Ayurveda and Wellness Hospital in Kochi . The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and/or an MD in Ayurveda , alongside an MBBS degree , with at least one year of practical experience in modern medicine . This unique role is designed for physicians who, after gaining exposure to allopathic practice, have chosen to dedicate their future to Ayurveda-based preventive, promotive, and curative care . The position offers an exciting opportunity to bridge traditional Ayurvedic wisdom with scientific understanding of modern medicine , in a facility that emphasizes holistic healing and patient-centered wellness. Educational Qualifications: Mandatory : BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) Preferred : MD (Ayurveda) from a recognized institution Certification in integrative medicine, panchakarma, or functional medicine (optional but advantageous) Experience: At least 1 year of clinical practice in modern medicine (MBBS setting) 2–5 years of Ayurvedic clinical practice (may include internship) Experience in a hospital or wellness center setting is preferred Strong inclination towards holistic and integrative healthcare models Roles and Responsibilities: Clinical Duties: Conduct detailed Ayurvedic consultations, including prakriti analysis, disease diagnosis , and customized treatment planning. Utilize Ayurvedic therapies including herbal prescriptions, panchakarma , detoxification protocols, and lifestyle/diet counseling. Apply biomedical understanding when necessary to explain conditions, educate patients, and collaborate with other clinicians. Supervise Ayurvedic therapists and ensure proper execution of treatments. Interpret lab reports and imaging (from a modern medicine standpoint) if required to support holistic management. Hospital & Team Engagement: Work closely with other Ayurvedic physicians, therapists, dietitians, yoga consultants, and allopathic professionals (if part of integrated model). Participate in patient case reviews, interdisciplinary planning, and wellness program development. Maintain detailed patient records using both Ayurvedic and biomedical diagnostic frameworks. Patient Education: Guide patients on Ayurvedic nutrition, dinacharya (daily regimen), ritucharya (seasonal regimen), and mental wellness practices. Conduct public awareness sessions, webinars, or in-house wellness lectures when needed. Administrative & Research: Contribute to the creation of SOPs and treatment protocols. Assist in developing integrated care pathways or Ayurvedic health packages. Optional: participate in clinical research or documentation of treatment outcomes. Desired Skills & Attributes: Deep knowledge of Ayurvedic texts and their clinical application. Basic understanding of pharmacology and diagnostics from MBBS curriculum. Compassionate communication and patient-handling skills. Strong ethical grounding and passion for holistic healing. Openness to learning and adapting within an integrative team.
