Role & responsibilities Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering (or equivalent). Experience: 1. Minimum 11 years of experience in a thermal power plant with a strong background in C&I systems. 2. Extensive experience working with Siemens PLC systems (S7300/400, PCS7). 3. Proven experience in field instrumentation (transmitters, sensors, etc.) and actuator commissioning. Skills: 1. Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting. 2. Strong understanding of field instruments and their integration with control systems. 3. Excellent knowledge of control systems, process automation, and instrumentation. 4. Ability to work independently in shift operations and under pressure. 5. Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail. Additional Competencies: 1. Good communication and teamwork skills. 2. Preferred candidate profile Key Responsibilities Operation & Maintenance: 1. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of control and instrumentation systems in a thermal power plant. 2. Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of Siemens PLC systems and related automation equipment. 3. Monitor and ensure proper functioning of DCS, PLC, and other C&I systems during shift operations. Shift Operations: 1. Manage and oversee shift operations, ensuring smooth functioning of C&I systems and coordinating with other departments (electrical, mechanical, and operations teams). 2. Act as a point of contact during shifts for any technical issues related to instrumentation and control systems. PLC & Automation: 1. Experience with Siemens PLC programming, modification, and system integration. 2. Analyze and optimize control loops, implementing changes and improvements to enhance plant performance and efficiency. Commissioning: 1. Plan, execute, and document commissioning activities for new C&I equipment and systems, ensuring proper functionality in line with project specifications. 2. Collaborate with contractors and vendors during the installation and commissioning phases. Field Instruments & Actuators: 1. Expertise in the installation, calibration, testing, and commissioning of field instruments including temperature, pressure, flow, and level transmitters. 2. Lead the commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical and pneumatic actuators used in valve operations and other control systems. 3. Diagnose and rectify faults in field instrumentation, ensuring minimum downtime. Documentation & Reporting: 1. Maintain accurate logs of shift activities, maintenance work, and equipment performance. 2. Prepare reports on system health, incidents, and corrective actions taken.
