Job Description

Position Overview

The Relationship Associate – Bancassurance is responsible for promoting and selling insurance products through the bank’s channels. The role focuses on building strong customer relationships, understanding customer needs, cross-selling insurance solutions, and achieving sales and revenue targets while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Promote bancassurance products such as life insurance, health insurance, and investment-linked products to bank customers.

  • Identify customer insurance needs and suggest suitable products.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.

  • Achieve assigned sales targets, including policy issuance, premium collection, and renewals.

2. Lead Management & Follow-Up

  • Generate leads through branch customers, referrals, campaigns, and marketing initiatives.

  • Follow up with prospective clients to convert leads into insurance policies.

  • Maintain and update a pipeline of potential customers and track progress.

3. Customer Education & Service

  • Explain product features, benefits, and terms clearly to customers.

  • Assist customers in completing policy documentation and onboarding processes.

  • Support claim assistance and resolution of customer queries promptly and professionally.

4. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all sales and documentation adhere to regulatory guidelines and company policies.

  • Complete KYC, insurance forms, and other required paperwork accurately.

  • Assist in audits, maintaining records, and reporting as required.

5. Coordination & Reporting

  • Collaborate with branch staff, relationship managers, and insurance partners to meet sales objectives.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales performance, leads, and customer interactions.

  • Participate in training sessions, product briefings, and performance review meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Familiarity with insurance products, banking operations, and cross-selling techniques is an advantage.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
