Registered Respiratory Therapist

Key Responsibilities of a Respiratory Therapist:

• Assessment and Diagnosis:
• Conducting pulmonary function tests (like spirometry) to assess lung capacity and function.
• Evaluating patients' respiratory status and identifying breathing problems.
• Analyzing arterial blood gas samples to assess oxygen and carbon dioxide levels.
• Treatment and Management:
• Developing and implementing respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
• Administering medications, such as inhaled drugs and oxygen therapy.
• Managing mechanical ventilators and other respiratory support equipment.
• Providing airway management, including bronchopulmonary drainage and chest physiotherapy.
• Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
• Patient Education and Support:
• Educating patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
• Providing emotional support to patients undergoing respiratory therapy.
• Equipment Management and Maintenance:
• Ensuring proper setup, safety, and function of respiratory equipment.
• Maintaining and calibrating respiratory equipment.
• Emergency Care:
• Responding to respiratory emergencies, such as asthma attacks or respiratory distress.
• Providing immediate life support, including CPR, in emergency situations.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Communicating effectively with patients, families, and other team members.
• Other Duties:
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
• Assisting with patient transport, especially high-risk patients.
• Supervising and training other respiratory therapists and students.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
