Reports To: Plant Manager / Operations Manager Experience: 4- 8 years in storekeeping or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment Education: Any graduate (preferably with a diploma/degree in Materials Management or Logistics) Job Summary: The Stores Incharge will be responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials, components, consumables, and finished goods. This role ensures efficient stock control, timely reporting, and adherence to inventory policies, while maintaining accuracy in documentation and supporting production with uninterrupted material supply. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations of the store including receiving, storing, and issuing materials. Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP or inventory management software. Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile with system records. Ensure proper labeling, stacking, and storage of materials for easy identification and retrieval. Monitor stock levels and generate reorder requirements to avoid stock-outs or overstocking. Coordinate with procurement, production, and dispatch teams for smooth material flow. Implement FIFO, LIFO, and other inventory control methods as appropriate. Ensure safe handling and storage practices to prevent material damage or loss. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on stock movement and status. Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements related to inventory and materials. Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices. Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Tally, Oracle, etc.) Good organizational and communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Ability to lead a team of store assistants or helpers. Basic understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in warehousing.
