Data Science Manager – Switzerland Location: Zurich / Geneva / Basel / Lausanne (Hybrid or On-site) Department: Data Science / Analytics / Technology Reports to: Head of Data / Chief Technology Officer / Director of Analytics About the Role We are seeking an experienced and innovative Data Science Manager to lead our data science initiatives and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization in Switzerland. In this role, you will manage a team of data scientists and analysts, develop advanced analytics solutions, and collaborate closely with business leaders to implement AI and machine learning strategies that deliver measurable business impact. This position is ideal for someone with a strong technical background, leadership experience, and the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategies. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers . Develop and oversee AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics models to solve key business challenges. Define and implement the company’s data science roadmap and best practices . Partner with cross-functional teams (product, marketing, operations, finance) to identify and prioritize data opportunities. Ensure data quality, scalability, and security across data systems and workflows. Communicate insights and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders. Stay current with emerging trends in data science, AI, and MLOps . Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to operationalize data science solutions in production. Requirements Master’s or PhD degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field . 6–10 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics , with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SQL . Expertise in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn). Experience with big data tools and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks). Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing technical teams. Strong business acumen and communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to non-technical audiences. Fluent in English ; German and/or French is a strong advantage.
