R&D Associate, Microbiology

You will live our Purpose, Fight and Compass in this role and own the testing and decisions around substantiating antimicrobial claims for new projects. You will actively provide the microbiological support for development of new products across categories, especially personal care and surface care brands to unleash the potential of the R&D Microbiology team.

Working within a team of global microbiologists, you will be driving the data generation, analysis and recommendations around antimicrobial performance of personal care and surface care innovations. The vision of the role is also to contribute towards continuous improvement of lab procedures and best practices. You will be managing the interactions with external labs and institutions while working on innovation projects. Along with fellow microbiologists, you will maintain and improve the microbiology lab as per global quality and safety guidelines.

Working in FMCG or cleaning and hygiene product manufacturing industry with a hands-on experience of conducting antimicrobial performance evaluations using global standards like EN, ASTM and ISO, preferably EN1276, EN1650, EN13697, etc. You will excel in the role as you have hunger to learn and are a self-starter. Your communication skills will help you interact effectively with the global team members.

You will be responsible for

• Supporting New Product Development teams in substantiating antimicrobial claims for new projects.
• Independently planning and conducting experiments to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of prototype formulations, finished products as per global and internal standard methods
• Contributing towards continuous improvement of R&D laboratory procedures and best practices and recommending minor modifications to existing techniques, processes, systems, or programs
• Maintaining lab records in compliance with Microbiology Laboratory and Global Quality standards
• Liaising with external laboratories in a professional and productive manner to ensure delivery of results on time
