CNC/VMC Operator: - Key Responsibilities Operate CNC/VMC machines as per production requirements. Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and machining instructions. Perform machine setup including tool selection, tool offsetting, fixture mounting, and job alignment. Conduct machining operations such as milling, drilling, tapping, and finishing. Monitor machine operations to ensure dimensional accuracy. Inspect machined components using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, etc.). Make necessary adjustments to machine parameters for correct output. Maintain tooling inventory and ensure proper tool usage. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines. Follow safety guidelines and maintain 5S on the shopfloor. Report production issues, deviations, or equipment problems to the supervisor. Key Skills & Requirements Proven experience as CNC/VMC Operator. Strong knowledge of machining processes and cutting parameters. Ability to read and understand technical drawings. Achieve 100% compliance for in-process and final inspection documentation. Ensure proper usage and calibration of measuring instruments. Maintain customer complaint frequency within target (e.g., zero major complaints per month ). Implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Update and maintain control plans, PFMEA, SOPs, and work instructions. Ensure all quality records are updated and available on time. Monitor daily rejection reports and identify top defect trends. Work with production to reduce scrap and rework by X% monthly. Inspect and evaluate supplier material quality. Ensure supplier rejection rate stays below X% . Ensure 100% calibration compliance for all gauges and instruments. Maintain proper traceability and identification for all measuring tools. Conduct operator training on quality standards, defects, and inspection methods. Implement minimum 2 Kaizens per month related to quality improvement. Support Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement activities. Maintain daily inspection reports, rejection logs, and quality metrics. Submit weekly and monthly quality performance reports on time. Ensure data accuracy for MIS reporting. Support production, design, and maintenance teams in solving quality-related problems.
