Quantum Research Scientist

Role Overview: You will be working at an advanced-technology scale-up focused on Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Semiconductor Engineering. The hardware division of the company specializes in designing full-stack enterprise quantum computers, including superconducting processors, cryogenic control electronics, and RF instrumentation. The goal is to unlock breakthroughs across various sectors such as life sciences, finance, transportation, and space. Key Responsibilities: - Design fully fault-tolerant and scalable quantum processors, crafting blueprints and error-correction strategies for next-generation devices - Design, simulate, and benchmark various quantum error-correction codes on noise-biased hardware - Build numerical tool-chains using Python/QuTiP/Qiskit to model error propagation, mitigation, and gate-fidelity limits - Prototype dynamical-decoupling and error-mitigation schemes to extend coherence and enable bias-preserving logical gates - Publish peer-reviewed papers, file patents, and author internal Department of Energy (DoE) reports - Champion rigorous peer reviews, mentor junior researchers, and promote cross-functional knowledge-sharing within the organization Qualifications Required: - PhD or MS in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on quantum technologies - Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing quantum error-correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures - Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and quantum software stacks for large-scale simulations and data analysis - Hands-on experience with dynamical decoupling and error-mitigation techniques on experimental platforms - Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications and successful research projects Additional Company Details: You will play a critical role in advancing the company's capabilities in the field of quantum computing and semiconductor engineering.,
