About the Role At Quantum Arcadia, we are building immersive VR experiences that blur the line between reality and the virtual world. Our flagship project is a VR city exploration game, designed to let players explore lifelike cities, interact with AI-driven NPCs, and feel truly present in vast, dynamic environments. We are looking for Unity VR Developers (mid-level and freshers) who are passionate about virtual reality, eager to push technical boundaries, and excited to bring our vision to life. You will be working closely with a cross-functional team of AI/ML engineers, 3D artists, and game designers to create seamless, optimized, and interactive VR worlds for Meta Quest headsets. This is an opportunity to work at the cutting edge of VR, shaping the way people experience digital cities and building systems that scale across large environments while maintaining smooth performance. ​ What you'll do Design, build, and optimize VR gameplay systems using Unity and C# for Meta Quest headsets. Implement XR Interaction Toolkit features (grabbing, UI interactions, locomotion, and object manipulation) with both controllers and hand-tracking. Work with Meta XR SDK and OpenXR to integrate Quest input systems and ensure compatibility with Quest 3. Apply addressables, additive scene streaming, and GPU instancing to manage performance and scalability in large city scenes. Optimize rendering pipelines and assets for Quest 3 hardware constraints while delivering visually immersive experiences. Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to integrate dynamic NPC interactions and environment systems. Partner with 3D artists and game designers to bring environments, mechanics, and interactions to life. Test, debug, and document VR features to ensure smooth player experiences. Contribute ideas and technical solutions that enhance presence, interactivity, and realism in VR. ​ Must-Haves Strong proficiency in Unity and C# scripting, with a focus on VR integration. Hands-on experience with the Unity XR Interaction Toolkit. Familiarity with Meta XR SDK and OpenXR development. Understanding of Quest 3 optimization techniques, including performance profiling and asset compression. Knowledge of addressables, additive scene streaming, and GPU instancing for scalable environments. Experience implementing hand-tracking and controller-based interactions. Our flagship project, a VR city exploration game, lets players walk, drive, and interact within expansive urban environments filled with detail and realism. We are seeking a talented 3D artist with 13 years of experience (or a strong portfolio) to design, model, and optimize city environments, buildings, and props that bring our vision to life. This is a hands-on role where creativity meets performance, requiring both artistic skill and technical precision to ensure assets are VR-ready and optimized for Meta Quest 3. As part of a cross-functional team of VR developers, AI/ML engineers, and game designers, you will play a pivotal role in building environments that are both visually compelling and performance-friendly. ? What You'll Do Create high-quality 3D models of urban environments, buildings, and props for VR gameplay. Develop textures and materials using Substance Painter/Designer to achieve realism and consistency. Ensure all assets are optimized for VR, with careful attention to poly count, UV mapping, and performance constraints. Build Level of Detail (LOD) variations and performance-friendly assets to ensure seamless scaling in large city environments. Collaborate with developers to integrate assets into Unity, ensuring proper lighting, shaders, and prefab setup. Work closely with 3D artists, designers, and engineers to maintain consistent art direction and quality standards. Troubleshoot and refine assets to resolve issues in Unity, including lightmaps, collisions, and material setup. Stay updated with industry trends and propose new techniques that enhance the visual quality and efficiency of asset production. ? Must-Haves 13 years of experience as a 3D Artist or a portfolio that demonstrates strong modeling and texturing skills. Proficiency in Blender or Maya for modeling. Strong texturing skills using Substance Painter. Ability to optimize poly counts and create performance-friendly assets. Experience in LOD creation and UV mapping workflows. Understanding of best practices for VR asset creation (low draw calls, baked lighting, and clean topology). ? Nice-to-Haves Familiarity with Unity asset integration (prefabs, lightmaps, materials, shaders). Basic sculpting knowledge in ZBrush.
