Job Description

Locations : Dindigul & Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu Industry : Civil Engineering & Construction Specializations : Roads, Drainage Systems, Residential & Commercial Buildings Role Overview As a Quantity Surveyor at Yathra Construction, you will be integral to managing the financial and contractual aspects of our diverse projects. Your expertise will ensure that projects are completed within budget, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Cost Estimation & Budgeting : Develop detailed cost estimates and budgets for roadworks, drainage systems, and building projects, considering materials, labor, and equipment costs. Tender & Procurement Management : Prepare and evaluate tender documents, manage the procurement process, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Contract Administration : Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and handle amendments and disputes. Cost Control & Financial Reporting : Monitor project costs in real-time, implement cost-saving measures, and prepare financial reports for senior management. Site Supervision & Valuation : Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, verify quantities, and ensure work complies with specifications. Risk Management : Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate their impact on the project's cost and timeline. Stakeholder Collaboration : Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to ensure alignment and address any concerns promptly. Required Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Experience : Minimum of 3–5 years in quantity surveying, with experience in roadworks, drainage systems, and building projects. Certifications : Membership with professional bodies such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Indian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (IIQS) is preferred. Desired Skills Technical Proficiency : Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost estimation techniques. Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze project plans, identify cost implications, and recommend cost-effective solutions. Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting. Software Proficiency : Familiarity with quantity surveying and project management software. Attention to Detail : Meticulous in reviewing contracts, invoices, and project documentation.
