Quantitative Data Analyst

As a Quantitative Data Analyst at NuQuants, a division of Zivanta Analytics, you will play a crucial role in conducting quantitative analysis and supporting valuation processes in the US banking sector. Your responsibilities will include: - Performing detailed analysis and modeling of US Banking products using advanced quantitative techniques and industry-standard methodologies. - Collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and integrity. - Developing and implementing statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques to analyze data. - Generating and visualizing insights from data analysis, creating detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders. - Utilizing advanced programming skills, especially in Python, to implement systems and adhere to general software engineering principles. - Designing and implementing improvements to current reporting and/or database structures. - Interfacing directly with clients and the platform engineering team, automating processes for daily and historical calculations to construct powerful financial engines. - Staying current with industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices related to valuation and risk management. Qualifications required for this role include: - Masters/Bachelors in Computer Sciences or a quantitative field (Finance, Business, Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or Engineering). - Proficiency in Python/R/SQL programming, with a focus on financial data management. - Strong proficiency in quantitative analysis and statistical techniques. - Strong interest in financial markets and the intersection of software and quantitative finance. Preferred qualifications for this position include: - Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both clients and internal teams. - Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. - Flexibility to work with teammates across different time zones. - Excellent organizational and project management skills. - Self-motivation is essential, with a strong desire to solve problems and proactively find solutions. - Drive to quickly gain expertise on a subject matter that might be new to you. NuQuants operates on a hybrid work schedule with 3 days on-site in Kolkata and 2.5 days working from home. Candidates based out of Kolkata are preferred for this role as it requires you to operate out of the office premises.
