Quality Inspector

A Quality Inspector ensures products meet company specifications, industry standards, and customer expectations by performing inspections and tests at various stages of production, documenting findings, and recommending improvements to the manufacturing process. Key responsibilities include measuring products with precision tools, identifying defects, segregating non-conforming items, maintaining quality records, collaborating with production teams, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
Core Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspection and Testing: Conducts inspections, tests, and measurements on raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet defined quality standards and specifications.
• Defect Identification and Control: Identifies, sets aside, and documents any products or materials that do not meet production standards, implementing corrective actions.
• Measurement and Tool Usage: Uses precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and electronic equipment to verify product dimensions and specifications.
• Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintains detailed logs of inspection results, prepares reports for supervisors, and documents any quality issues or deviations from standards.
• Process Monitoring and Improvement: Monitors production operations to ensure they adhere to standards and recommends necessary adjustments or improvements to the assembly and production processes.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensures compliance with industry regulations, quality control plans, and safety and health standards within the workplace.
• Communication and Collaboration: Discusses inspection results with production staff, collaborates with other departments, and provides feedback to production managers to address quality issues.

Key Aspects of the Role

• Quality Advocate: Acts as an advocate for improving quality measures and processes within the organization.
• Data Analysis: Analyzes quality data collected during inspections to identify trends and suggest actions for improvement.
• Documentation: Manages and maintains all quality reports and documentation, ensuring all information is accurate and accessible.
• Product Acceptance: Makes the decision to accept or reject finished products based on their adherence to quality standards.
