Quality Inspector

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED - DIPLOMA MECHANICAL WITH 1-4 YRS EXPERIENCE IN QUALITY

In metal packaging and printing, a Quality Inspector ensures products meet standards by inspecting raw materials, monitoring production, conducting tests, and verifying finished goods for defects in printing, material integrity, and packaging functionality. They document findings, recommend process improvements, and decide on product acceptance or rejection, playing a vital role in maintaining brand image, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

• Material Inspection: Inspecting incoming raw materials (metal sheets, inks, coatings) to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Process Monitoring: Observing manufacturing processes (printing, metal forming, coating) to ensure they conform to established standards.
• Testing and Measurement: Performing various tests, such as color accuracy, ink adhesion, coating thickness, and structural integrity tests on metal cans and printed materials.
• Product Inspection: Visually and dimensionally inspecting finished products to identify any defects, such as printing inconsistencies, material flaws, or incorrect dimensions.
• Documentation and Reporting: Recording inspection results and creating detailed reports for management or clients, which are crucial for tracking quality and initiating corrective actions.
• Acceptance/Rejection: Deciding to accept or reject products that do not meet the specified quality standards.
• Collaboration: Communicating findings to production teams to discuss and implement solutions for quality issues.
• Compliance: Verifying that products adhere to relevant regulations, safety standards, and client specifications.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Technical Proficiency: Ability to use measurement tools like calipers, bore gauges, micrometer, vernier and specialized printing inspection equipment.
• Knowledge of Standards: Understanding of quality standards, regulations (e.g., ISO 9000), and industry best practices relevant to metal packaging and printing.
• Manufacturing Processes: Familiarity with the entire production process, from metal forming and printing techniques to packaging design and filling.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify root causes of defects, and suggest improvements to manufacturing processes.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with production teams and management about quality issues and solutions.
