Job Description

Job Title: Quality Inspector Incoming & PDI (Blue collar) Reporting Line: - Quality Manager Job Purpose: The Quality inspector will be responsible for all Inspection related functions related to the following products that are manufactured: Hydraulic Power Packs, Cooling pump units, Cooler units, Hydraulic Piston Accumulators & subcomponents like valves, sensors, pump motors, Hoses, manifolds, Tanks Etc.. These products are manufactured and supplied as OEM Equipment to various customers in the Wind turbine manufacturers domain. Main quality related Responsibilities To carry out inspection activities for incoming materials and final products before dispatch, ensuring adherence to Dellner Bubenzer specifications, drawings, and quality standards. The role supports the continuous assurance of product reliability, fitment, and compliance with customer and internal requirements. Key Responsibilities: Incoming Inspection: Check and verify received raw materials, machined components, and bought-out items against drawings/specifications. Verify parts against engineering drawings, quality plans (QAP), and supplier documentation (MTCs, compliance certificates). Use appropriate measuring instruments like Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, etc. CMM will be added advantage. Identify and segregate non-conforming materials and inform concerned personnel. Maintain incoming inspection reports and ensure traceability. Verify surface treatments (phosphate, paint, plating) and thread types (UNF, BSP, metric) for compliance. Ensure correct tagging and storage of accepted and rejected materials physically and in ERP system. Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI): Perform final inspection of hydraulic cylinders and components before dispatch. Verify product dimensions, surface finish, and functional parameters as per checklists. Confirm proper documentation (PDI report, cleaning, packing, test certificates). Ensure visual checks for paint finish, cleanliness, fittings, and labels. Coordinate with the dispatch/packing team to ensure only approved items are shipped. Additional Duties: Support quality engineers in root cause analysis of defects. Follow 5S and safety practices in the inspection area. Assist in calibration of instruments and the upkeep of inspection tools. Participate in internal audits and training as required. Skills & Requirements: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant trade. Minimum 56 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in hydraulic or precision manufacturing. Good knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings. Ability to handle inspection tools and maintain proper records. Basic computer skills to fill inspection reports (Excel, PDF,ERP). Exposure to quality systems like ISO 9001 / ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 is advantage. Team player with a keen eye for detail and discipline.
