Job Purpose To ensure the safety, security, and comfort of customers, staff, and property within the cinema premises. This includes preventing incidents, responding to emergencies, monitoring security systems, and maintaining a secure environment. Key Responsibilities Patrol cinema halls, lobbies, entry/exit points, public areas, and back-of-house areas to deter, detect, and respond to security incidents. Monitor CCTV, alarms, and other surveillance systems; identify and report suspicious behavior or safety hazards. Control access — check bags and belongings, ensure only authorized personnel enter restricted areas. Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies — fire, medical, evacuations. Maintain security & safety equipment; report defects or issues timely. Conduct/participate in regular fire drills, evacuation drills, emergency-response training. Prepare incident reports and maintain logs/registers: visitor/vendor entry, staff movements, lost & found, incident/accident reports. Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and company policies regarding safety & security (e.g. fire safety norms). Manage and supervise security guards (if applicable), assign duties, ensure adherence to SOPs. Collaborate with cinema operations team & management to maintain a safe and customer-friendly environment. Handle routine administrative tasks: submitting bills and expenses, maintaining documentation. Qualifications & Experience Minimum educational qualification: Graduate (or as per location) Diploma / Certification in Fire & Safety or equivalent preferred or required. Experience: typically 2–4 years in a similar security role, especially in cinemas, retail, large public spaces, or hospitality. Experience supervising or managing small security teams is a plus. Skills & Competencies Strong observation and situational awareness. Good judgment, fast decision-making under stress. Ability to remain calm during emergencies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills — MS Office, log/register maintenance. Reliability, integrity, and high sense of discipline. Physical fitness appropriate to the duties (patrolling, standing for long periods, etc.). Working Conditions & Schedule Rotational shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. One week off per [week or fortnight] or as per company schedule. May require working in environments with crowds, varying noise levels.
