Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Manage day-to-day procurement of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, tools, and other plant requirements.
Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors to ensure timely supply of materials.
Prepare and release purchase orders (POs) as per approved purchase requisitions (PRs).
Negotiate with vendors on pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays and shortages.
Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, and Finance departments for procurement activities.
Monitor vendor performance, delivery timelines, and material quality.
Follow up on pending purchase orders, material dispatches, and deliveries.
Maintain proper documentation of purchase orders, quotations, invoices, and vendor records.
Ensure procurement activities are aligned with company policies, budgets, and approval procedures.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Stores to maintain optimum stock.
Handle vendor complaints, material rejection cases, and replacement or return processes.
Support cost reduction initiatives through price comparison, alternate sourcing, and vendor development.
Ensure compliance with applicable procurement procedures and audit requirements
