Puppet Operations Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for all the jobs done using Puppet as a tool in the VMware environment. From implementation to execution and troubleshooting will be your responsibility.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Validate Puppet roles/profiles that are currently used to configure Red Hat Linux (RHEL) VMs hosted in Azure IaaS.
• Help the one of our team with development of Puppet roles/profiles that will be used to configure SUSE Linux (SLES) VMs hosted in Azure IaaS.
• Help Costco's SAP BASIS team with task automation.
• Provide general Puppet-related knowledge transfer to Costco's SAP BASIS team.
  

Skills

• Working knowledge of Puppet PowerShell dev environment (PowerShell Modules for Puppet).
• Be able to set dev environment in a short period of time.
• Advanced knowledge of Puppet APIs.
• Have a good understanding of Puppet API capabilities (basically know how to find information and be really familiar with Puppet development kit).
• Proficiency in PowerShell Scripting.
• BASH Scripting Experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud, Azure IaaS VMs, and ARM templates.
  

Qualification

• Bachelors in Computer Science, MS in Engineering or Equivalent.
• Clear and sharp understanding of PowerShell Scripting.
