As a Team Lead for Downstream Process development of Vaccines, your primary responsibility will be to achieve R&D development targets in alignment with organizational and market requirements. You will be managing the planning, implementation, and management of R&D development methods for new products and technologies, encompassing both upstream and downstream methods for large scale Bacterial & Viral Vaccine Production. Your role will require you to be a subject matter expert in Bacterial & Viral Vaccine Process development, possessing a thorough knowledge of downstream processes for vaccines and staying informed about current developments in the vaccine industry. You should be competent in creating strategies for downstream process development, managing multiple projects within the group, and utilizing expertise in cell separations, cell lysis, protein refolding, Chromatography techniques, filtration, and other relevant methods. Additionally, you will be expected to contribute unique ideas aimed at reducing process/product costs and demonstrate an understanding of protein chemistry to optimize the purification process. Your familiarity with technology transfer, scale-up processes, and the preparation/review of technical dossiers for regulatory submissions will be crucial in this role. Responsibilities: Design and execute experiments to develop and screen antibody libraries against target bacterial antigens. Utilize antibody engineering techniques (e.g., phage display, directed evolution) to optimize antibody affinity, specificity, and function. Perform in vitro and potentially in vivo assays to evaluate the antibacterial activity of antibody candidates. Collaborate with microbiologists and immunologists to understand the mechanisms of action of the identified antibodies. Analyze and interpret data, prepare scientific reports, and present findings at scientific meetings and conferences. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in antibody engineering and antibacterial discovery research. Contribute to the writing of grant proposals and scientific publications. Job description - Research Associate (Protein Chemistry laboratory) 1. Process development, scale-up and transfer: (Downstream) Undertake on-going referencing and literature reviews and provide strategic inputs to projects at all stages Conduct lab experiments as per the shortlisted methodologies in order to develop & finalize purification processes for various recombinant therapeutic products. Provide own inputs and insights to optimize/improve process Provide samples to analytical labs for testing, collect and file reports of analysis, compile the data and do data analysis for conclusion of experiments Support plant activities as per need Present data in project review meetings Prepare process development report and technology transfer documents Participate in at-scale demo batches and handover as part of technology transfer Jointly monitor purification process at production facility and resolve any queries that may arise during production 2. Materials and equipment management: Oversee installation of new equipment and attend demos Maintain all IQ/OQ/PQ documents Ensure scheduled and breakdown maintenance by coordinating with maintenance team Create and maintain all maintenance/ repair logs Support management of chemical, consumables: o Transfer/store as per set norms o Engage in technical discussions with vendors in order to suggest suitable vendors o Maintain material logs and calculate shortfalls (for order placement) o Post materials required onto SAP 3.
