Job Title: Safety Officer Location: Karur, Tamil Nadu Project Site: Solar & Wind Power Plant Experience Required: 2–3 Years Employment Type: Full-time / Site-based To ensure the effective implementation of safety policies, procedures, and standards at the solar and wind power plant site in compliance with legal regulations and organizational safety goals. The Safety Officer will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing health and safety practices and creating a culture of safety awareness among the workforce. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all applicable safety laws, regulations, and standards at the project site. Conduct site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure the implementation of corrective measures. Implement and monitor safety protocols for solar and wind installation, commissioning, and O&M activities. Coordinate and conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, mock drills, and training sessions for workers and contractors. Investigate incidents/accidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Maintain documentation related to safety inspections, risk assessments, permit-to-work (PTW), and incident reports. Assist in the development of Job Safety Analysis (JSA), risk assessments, and emergency preparedness plans. Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure safe execution of work. Ensure proper usage of PPE and promote behavioral safety across the site. Liaise with statutory bodies during inspections and ensure statutory compliance. Qualifications and Skills 2–3 years of relevant experience in EHS, preferably in renewable energy (solar/wind) or infrastructure projects. Knowledge of Tamil is preferred for effective site coordination. Familiar with ISO 45001 and applicable safety standards. Proficient in safety documentation, reporting, and use of MS Office. Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills. As a Safety Engineer for the Wind-Solar Hybrid Project in Rajula, Gujarat, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the implementation and compliance of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards at the project site. Your role will include conducting safety training, risk assessments, and enforcing site safety protocols to create a safe working environment for all personnel. Your key responsibilities will involve ensuring safety compliance by implementing relevant regulatory standards, company HSE policies, and conducting daily site safety inspections to identify and rectify hazards promptly. You will be tasked with identifying potential risks associated with wind turbines, solar panels, high-voltage equipment, and construction activities, and developing procedures for hazard control through Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessment. Furthermore, you will conduct training sessions such as Toolbox Talks (TBT), safety induction, and emergency response training to enhance awareness among site workers regarding various safety protocols. Your role will also involve developing Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and investigating any incidents, near-misses, or unsafe acts to recommend preventive measures and ensure compliance with legal and client safety requirements. Your communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills will be crucial in liaising with site managers, contractors, and regulatory authorities to maintain safety documentation, permits, and inspection reports. It is essential that all subcontractors and workers adhere to HSE standards before commencing work. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Diploma/Degree in Industrial Safety, Engineering, or a related field, along with certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ADIS, or PDIS. A minimum of 2-4 years of HSE experience in renewable energy, construction, or power projects is required, with technical knowledge of wind turbine safety, solar farm safety, electrical safety, and working at heights. Proficiency in MS Office, incident reporting software, and safety management tools is also necessary. The preferred candidate will have prior experience in wind, solar, or hybrid power projects, be able to work in remote locations, and possess a strong understanding of HSE legal requirements in Gujarat and India.
