Job Vacancy: Professor of Psychiatry
Location: Medical College, Solan, Himachal Pradesh
Position: Full-Time

Job Description:
Medical College, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, is seeking a qualified and experienced professional for the position of Professor of Psychiatry. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, guiding research work, and contributing to the academic and clinical activities of the department. The position also involves mentoring junior faculty, participating in clinical consultations, and contributing to departmental and institutional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver lectures, seminars, and clinical instruction to medical students and residents.
• Supervise clinical rounds, case discussions, and psychiatry outpatient and inpatient services.
• Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students and junior faculty.
• Lead research activities in the field of psychiatry and mental health.
• Participate in curriculum development and assessment processes.
• Engage in clinical practice and contribute to patient care services.
• Represent the department in academic forums and professional conferences.

Qualifications & Experience:

• MD in Psychiatry or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in Psychiatry at the college level, with at least 5 years at an Associate Professor level or equivalent.
• Proven track record in research and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience in curriculum development and educational innovation.

Desirable Skills:

• Expertise in child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, or other subspecialties.
• Familiarity with current mental health practices and therapies.
• Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Remuneration:
As per Medical College norms and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
