Production & Testing Engineer

Key Responsibilities: Production:

• Supervise and manage day-to-day production activities for transformer assembly, tanking, core & coil assembly, and winding.
• Ensure adherence to design specifications, drawings, and quality standards during manufacturing.
• Coordinate with design, purchase, and quality teams for smooth production flow.
• Monitor material usage, production schedules, and workforce efficiency.
• Implement lean manufacturing practices to improve productivity and reduce wastage.

Testing & Quality:

• Perform

  routine, type, and special tests

  on transformers as per IS/IEC standards (up to 20 MVA).
• Handle testing equipment such as HV test sets, tan-delta kits, partial discharge equipment, SFRA, and transformer turns ratio (TTR) meters.
• Ensure quality control and testing compliance before dispatch.
• Prepare and maintain test reports and documentation for customer approvals and audits.
• Investigate test failures and provide corrective actions.

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure compliance with IEC/IS standards, ISO quality norms, and client-specific requirements.
• Enforce workplace safety protocols during production and testing.
• Support internal and external audits (customer, BIS, ISO, etc.).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education:

  B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).

• Experience:

  Minimum 5 years in transformer manufacturing (preferably power & distribution up to 20 MVA).
• Strong knowledge of transformer design fundamentals, production processes, and testing standards.
• Hands-on experience with high-voltage testing equipment and transformer testing procedures.
• Good communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to handle customer inspections and FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests).
