Process Operator

As a Boiler Operator, you will be responsible for operating boilers to generate steam that is supplied to the kiln for activation. Your duties will include observing pressure, temperature, and draft meters on the panel to verify the specified operation of steam generation systems, feed water regulators, stoker, and valves. You will need to turn valves and adjust controls to set the specified draft openings, water level, and steam pressure of the boiler. Additionally, you will be required to observe the boiler and auxiliary units to detect malfunctions and make necessary repairs, such as tightening pipes and fittings. Testing and treating boiler feed water with specified chemicals may also be part of your responsibilities. Keeping a log of meter and gauge readings, recording data like water test results and the quantity of water consumed, as well as removing ash and soot from boiler systems will be crucial tasks in this role. In your capacity as a Boiler Operator, you will need to ensure that there are no health hazards and environmental aspects that go beyond control. It will also be essential to guarantee the proper utilization of available resources without wastage. Qualifications required for this position include a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an ITI in Mechanical/Fitter. A minimum of 3 years of experience with a Boiler Operator certificate is preferred. This position is of a permanent nature.
