As a Privacy Advocate, you will be responsible for providing legal research and guidance on initiatives impacting international privacy laws, data protection, and security matters. Your role will involve partnering cross-functionally with legal, product, engineering, and other teams to advise on privacy law matters, manage legal risk, and ensure regulatory compliance. With a minimum of 10 years of legal experience at a top-tier law firm or in-house, including a focus on data privacy, information security, and cybersecurity in a technology-related company, you will identify business requirements resulting from new data privacy and AI laws. Your expertise will drive an aligned approach for legal matters involving data protection, privacy, and data licensing to support the company's key business strategies. You will lead and mentor a team of privacy professionals, fostering a culture of privacy awareness and compliance. Serving as the subject matter expert on privacy laws and regulations, you will provide recommendations to develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies and procedures. Advocating for user privacy within the company, you will ensure privacy considerations are integrated into all aspects of product development and business operations. Your qualifications include a Bachelor's or higher degree in Law or related fields, along with certifications in Privacy such as CIPP from organizations like IAPP. Experience in advising on privacy and data security in commercial transactions is a plus. You should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex privacy issues and develop effective solutions. Additionally, you will handle privacy inquiries, complaints, and incidents with sound business judgment and flexibility to handle multiple matters effectively. Your role will require the ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly and positively. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, with a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday. Relocation before starting work is required. The benefits include health insurance.
