Principal Technical Specialist

As a Technical Specialist at Datavail, you will be responsible for providing Oracle DBA support in a very large environment with a minimum of 12 years of experience. Your key responsibilities will include: - Troubleshooting all database-related issues to resolution - Establishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and procedures - Monitoring and fine-tuning the databases/queries for optimal performance - Leading/owning multiple projects concurrently and showing enthusiasm to learn new technologies - Designing and implementing database disaster recovery solutions - Upgrading and migrating Oracle 12c databases - Configuring and managing Oracle Dataguard and Active Dataguard - Performing database and system level tuning, reviewing performance reports - Implementing Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) - Monitoring Oracle Enterprise Monitoring (OEM) - Implementing Oracle partitioning, table re-organization, and redefinition - Managing database capacity including storage, memory, and CPU resources - Performing database refresh and cloning - Upgrading and patching databases - Implementing data partitioning and archival - Working with Oracle GoldenGate - Proficient in Linux/Unix technical scripting and utilities Additionally, you should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and etiquette for email and Instant Messenger (IM).
