Principal Systems Development Engineer

As a Principal Systems Development Engineer at Dell Technologies, you will be involved in designing and developing electronic and electro-mechanical products to meet the highly complex system requirements of our customers. Operating at the forefront of technology, you will collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team to deliver advanced cooling solutions for AI, HPC, and enterprise server markets. Your role will require you to conduct feasibility studies, prepare installation specifications, and ensure products are delivered to the highest quality standards, on time and within budget. Your primary responsibility will be to translate thermal engineering challenges into robust algorithms for fan or system alarms & controls. You will work closely with the global systems management software and thermal controls team to design, document, implement, and validate thermal control algorithm features. Additionally, you will assist in debugging and validating thermal control features on functional server hardware, set up servers for testing purposes, and develop or modify software tools to aid in thermal controls design and validation. To be successful in this role, you should have 8-13 years of industry experience in mechatronics, thermal controls, electronics cooling, and hardware/firmware debugging. Proficiency in server operation, Linux, CAD software (especially CREO), and strong communication skills are essential requirements. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on controls or mechatronics is desirable, along with experience in electronic cooling solutions and computer programming languages such as Python or C.
