Principal Software Engineer - Platforms and Data Engineering

As a Principal Software Engineer at Fanatics, you will be a key member of the Platforms organization, driving data-driven decision-making by enhancing the fan experience through various exciting projects. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing and architecting Commerce Applications to engage fans globally across D2C and B2B platforms with workloads distributed in a multi-cloud topology. - Building and managing scalable and reliable Storage Infrastructure solutions. - Handling real-time data pipelines with high throughput and low latency for Streaming Data Processing. - Coordinating complex data processing workflows efficiently and reliably for Data & Workflow Orchestration. - Ensuring secure and efficient communication between applications through Messaging Infrastructure. - Analyzing massive datasets with speed and accuracy for Big Data Processing. - Providing a centralized and accessible repository for historical data through Data Warehouse. - Enabling fast and interactive data analysis for insights on the fly through Real-Time OLAP Databases. - Building and maintaining a robust platform to support the development and deployment of impactful ML models for AI & ML Platforms. Qualifications for this role include: - 13+ years of experience leading the development of modern cloud-based applications and integrating them into a common data platform. - Deep technical understanding of distributed systems architecture and operational system integration with analytical systems. - Strong expertise in the big data ecosystem, including tools like Apache Kafka, Spark, Airflow, AWS S3, data modeling, and data warehouses. - Proven experience in data processing, orchestration, data engineering, data quality management, and data governance. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. - Experience with AI/ML platforms and knowledge of how data scientists leverage data for AI is a strong plus.
